What we collect

Nothing is sold.

Protect Mode

Protect Mode checks the destinations your device connects to against our threat list. What is sent is the RedVPN ID and the destination names. On the phone this happens while the VPN is on, and the check travels through the VPN like the rest of your traffic. On the Mac you can also switch on Protect Mode only, without the VPN: then, while the VPN is off, the Mac's firewall extension sends the same things (never a name on your own local network) over your own internet connection, so our servers see your real IP address with that request. The destination is used to answer that one request and is not stored.

What the service keeps is a list of non-reversible 64-bit hashes, one per destination, for that device and for the current UTC day only. It exists for a single purpose: to count how many distinct destinations a device has checked, so that the daily limit of 3000 can be enforced. The list resets when the UTC day changes, and it is deleted entirely 25 hours after that device's last check. A hash cannot be turned back into the address it came from, and the list carries no times and no order, so no browsing history is built from it — not by us, and not by anyone who might take it.

Our threat-intelligence supplier receives nothing. The supplier sends us a list, which we combine with our own analysis, and nothing travels the other way. You can turn Protect Mode off at any time. With it off, nothing is checked and nothing is sent.

We do not sell or share your data

RedVPN does not sell, use or disclose your data to third parties for any purpose. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs in the apps, and nothing about your use of the VPN is shared with anyone for advertising or measurement.

Three companies process data on our instructions so the service can work, and for nothing else: Apple and Google handle subscription purchases made in their stores; RevenueCat tells the app whether a subscription is active; and Stripe takes the payment if you buy the optional travel eSIM or phone number. Our threat-intelligence supplier sends us a list and receives nothing: no address you visit, and no identifier, ever leaves our own servers for them.
